Binary format definition

The binary format is a way of representing data using only two digits, usually 0 and 1. Each digit in the binary format represents a power of 2. The rightmost bit represents 2^0 (1), the next bit to the left represents 2^1 (2), the next bit 2^2 (4), etc. Combining these bits enables representing all kinds of data types, including images, audio, video, and text. While it may not be human-readable, it sets the base for many important computing technologies, such as digital circuits, data storage, and communications protocols. Moreover, understanding binary format can help users address and avoid vulnerabilities that hackers tend to exploit. Experts utilize various tools to analyze binary files and codes for potential security risks.
