How to blur text on an iPhone with Markup Editor

Use Markup Editor to hide sensitive information in screenshots or images. It’s pretty simple:

  1. Open the “Photos” app on an iPhone.
  2. Open the picture you want to blur.
  3. Tap “Edit” in the upper right corner.
  4. Tap the pen to open the editor.
  5. Tap “+” and select the shape you want.
  6. Select the color.
  7. Drag the shape over your text.
  8. Tap “Done.”
  9. Tap “Done” again.

You can also send messages blurred with the “Invisible ink” feature on iMessage. The message will remain blurred until the recipient taps on it to open.

  2. Open iMovie and tap “Movie” to create a project.
  3. Select a video to which you want to add a blur effect and tap “Create movie.”
  4. Tap “+.”
  5. Choose the blurred photo you saved before from the camera roll, then tap three dots.
  6. Select “Picture in picture.”
  7. Adjust the blurred picture to hide the targeted area of the video.
  8. Tap “Done.”
