A free command-line utility for Windows that allows running programs on remote computers without having to install any client software. PsExec also allows redirecting console input and output between systems to use interactive tools remotely.

Real PsExec use examples

IT administrators use PsExec to find out a system’s exact IP configuration, deploy updates and patches, and remotely administer systems of a higher privilege level.

Cybercriminals may use PsExec to run backdoor executables on systems, access files and spawn processes with the SYSTEM account, and even extract password hashes.
