Hardware-isolated virtual machines (VM) that create a secure environment for tasks involving data from untrusted sources. Micro VMs can only access limited OS resources and are unable to interact with other system processes.
2012: Bromium, a desktop security firm, develops micro-virtualization technology as part of its vSentry product.
2015: Microsoft partners with Bromium to integrate micro-VM technology in Windows 10 and make the OS “the most secure end-point solution on the market.”
