BlueBorne definition
BlueBorne is a cyberthreat that attacks Android, iOS, Linux, Windows, and IoT devices via Bluetooth. Attackers use it to take control of devices and use them to access user data and networks, where they can steal information, spy on other users, or spread malware. It’s an especially dangerous threat because it can attack an unpaired device, even when it is not set on discoverable mode. This allows the attacker to hack the device undetected.
How to protect your devices from BlueBorne
- Turn Bluetooth off whenever you’re not using it.
- Don’t pair with unknown devices.
- Install software updates as soon as they become available.
