As 2026 accelerates to its full speed, we want to take a moment and look back at last year’s achievements and what they meant for our work with nonprofit organizations. This article is a snapshot of what we worked on, who we worked with, and how our collaboration with nonprofits continued to grow around the world.

2025 wrapped: NordVPN’s work with nonprofits

Connectivity where it matters most

Reliable internet access is critical for many communities, especially those working in humanitarian and high-risk environments. That’s why in 2025, we included Saily in our donations package to support essential work on the ground.

This addition helped nonprofits operating in challenging conditions stay connected for coordination, safety, and access to information. If you’re curious to learn more, take a look at the blog article from Saily.

Engaging in global conversations at RightsCon’25

We packed our bags and headed to RightsCon’25, where we joined meaningful and refreshingly honest discussions on digital rights, internet security, and responsible technology use. The event brought together civil society organizations, technologists, and advocates from all over the world.

Participating in RightsCon allowed us to listen, share insights, and better understand the challenges nonprofits face when it comes to digital security. To learn more, check out the recap of our participation

Growing our support for nonprofits worldwide

One of the most encouraging developments last year was the 50% growth of our donated accounts program:

  • We donated 5,521 accounts in total, including 3,500+ NordVPN accounts.
  • We extended our support to 330+ nonprofit organizations from 68 countries.
  • 220 new NGOs joined us, and 147 continued our partnership with them.

Behind every number is a team and a mission. We’re grateful to be part of that picture.

Partners who inspire us

In 2025, we had the chance to work alongside organizations doing truly meaningful work, including:

Each partnership helped us better understand the practical cybersecurity needs of nonprofits operating in often high-risk environments.

Cybersecurity for Changemakers

We also took an important step in education last year. We finalized “Cybersecurity for Changemakers” — a training program designed specifically for nonprofit organizations.

And in January of this year, we finally hosted our first webinar, focusing on practical, accessible cybersecurity guidance for nonprofit teams. Our goal is to help organizations build confidence and resilience without adding unnecessary complexity.

Sharing nonprofit voices through our blog

In 2025, we also made space on our blog to talk more about nonprofits, speaking with them, not just about them. These stories helped connect cybersecurity topics to real-world challenges and lived experience.

Some highlights include interviews and resources like:

Looking ahead

If 2025 taught us anything, it’s that working with nonprofits is an ongoing partnership. And we want to keep growing that community.

If you’re part of a nonprofit and think NordVPN could support your mission, we’d love to hear from you.

Shaping a better world one step at a time. Together.
