What is NordBot?
NordBot is an experimental AI-powered tool from NordLabs that works like a quick safety check for suspicious content on social platforms and messaging apps. When something makes you pause, you can send the content to NordBot through a supported platform and get a quick safety assessment before you decide whether to click, reply, or share.
NordBot can review different types of content, including messages, URLs, and images. It’s built for situations where something online makes you pause — a delivery message asking for payment, a social media post promoting a suspicious giveaway, a URL sent by an unknown account, or an image that may have been generated by AI.
Supported platforms include Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, WhatsApp, and X. Depending on the platform, you can send NordBot content in a direct message or tag it under a public post or reply. On X, however, you can only use NordBot by tagging AskNordLabs in a reply.
How does NordBot work?
NordBot only checks the content you send to it. When you receive or find something suspicious, you can share it with NordBot through a supported platform. It then analyzes the message, link, or image and replies with a result to help you decide what to do next.
NordBot gives one of four safety signals:
- Safe. The content does not show clear signs of danger.
- Suspicious. The content contains elements that deserve caution.
- Dangerous. The content appears likely to be harmful or deceptive.
- AI generated. The content appears to have been created or heavily altered with AI.
For example, you can ask NordBot to check a message that asks you to confirm account details, a URL shared in a post, or an image that seems misleading. The goal is not to replace your judgment but to give you a second opinion before you interact with content that could put your accounts, data, or money at risk.
Like any AI tool, NordBot can be wrong. It may miss some risky content or flag something legitimate as suspicious, so you should still avoid sharing passwords, payment details, one-time codes, or other sensitive information with unknown senders.
Why use NordBot?
Scams often spread through the same platforms you use every day. They can appear in private messages, group chats, comment threads, posts, and replies. Some try to rush you into clicking a link. Others impersonate brands, support teams, recruiters, friends, or public figures.
NordBot is built for these everyday moments of doubt. Instead of guessing whether a message or URL may be risky, you can ask NordBot for a quick check through a supported platform. That quick check gives you a reason to pause before clicking, replying, downloading, or sending money.
NordBot is an experimental NordLabs tool, so it works best as an extra signal — not as a replacement for good security habits or NordVPN’s built-in next-gen antivirus, which helps protect against scams, phishing, malware, and other online threats.
NordBot is part of NordLabs, a space for testing experimental tools and exploring new ways to make online life safer. By trying NordBot and sharing feedback, you can help NordLabs improve how the tool spots risky content across platforms — and make these checks more useful before you click, reply, or share.
Try NordBot on supported platforms
You can try NordBot by sending a suspicious message, URL, or image to NordBot on Telegram, AskNordLabs on Instagram, AskNordVPN on Facebook Messenger, or +1 940-616-6302 on WhatsApp. On X, tag AskNordLabs in a reply to the post you want checked.
Use NordBot when something feels off, but don’t rely on any single tool alone. If a message asks for sensitive data, pushes you to act urgently, or sends you to an unfamiliar website, treat it with caution — even if it appears to come from someone you know.
Before you click, reply, or share, a second look can make a real difference. NordBot helps you take that second look before suspicious content puts your account, data, or money at risk.
Online security starts with a click.
