You can upgrade your VPN plan anytime — go to your Nord Account profile, select “View details” under NordVPN, then select “Manage plan,” and choose your preferred plan. It will take effect when your current subscription expires.

Once you connect to a server, NordVPN will keep running even when the app is closed, so you can safely surf the net. On iOS and Android, you’ll see an icon in the top system bar indicating an active VPN connection. For desktop apps, look for the NordVPN icon in the system tray on Windows and in the menu bar on macOS – when clicked, it will give more info about your VPN status.
